Rogo's Restaurant - Seattle
Rogo's Restaurant
Description
Magnolia's Restaurant Lounge, formerly known as Szmania's, has seen several changes in ownership over the past few years. While some patrons have enjoyed the addition of Indian dishes to the menu, others feel that the quality has declined with the new owner. Despite some disappointing experiences and issues with service, the outdoor dining experience was pleasant and the guacamole was a standout dish. The variety of the menu, along with professional service and knowledgeable staff, made for an enjoyable dining experience for some. However, inconsistencies in service and quality have led others to question the restaurant's ability to survive in the long term. Overall, opinions on Magnolia's Restaurant Lounge are mixed, with some patrons recommending it for special occasions, while others suggest exploring other dining options in the area.

This is our neighborhood restaurant that has new ownership. They kept a number of popular dishes, and added some Indian dishes, which we love. Service was very good, and it was fun to try some of the new items on the menu. We will return to try some other new dishes.
Very good food. It is expensive so I would suggest probably going there to celebrate this special occasion. The service was impeccable. Our server, Brian was very friendly and offered suggestions for other things to do while in Charleston.
Can’t say I’ll be heading back here anytime soon. Everything about this dining experience seemed off. The bread was a bit stale. Cobb salad was a somewhat wilted and the cheese on it was bland. The butter chicken was okay but the vegetables were over cooked. There were no outstanding flavors. The waitress was nice enough. The menus seemed well worn as did the check presenter. Both were greasy. Maybe we came on a bad night. There were only four other tables seated and if they want more, they will need to up their game.
This restaurant has changed names and owners over the past few years. Unfortunately, the quality has gone way down with the new owner. We had 3 dishes the halibut, butter chicken and paneer. We also had the chickpea fritters as an appetizer. All disappointed. Both the butter chicken and paneer had the same curry base so it was like eating the same dish. the curry base had a canned taste to it and was not good. The curry fritters were huge, like baseballs. The bread (which you now have to ask for) is now a cheaper and stale version of the bread that used to be served. In fact, it is like this restaurant is substituting cheaper ingredients and quality for a higher profit. We have eaten there now twice with the new ownership to give it a fair shake. It is very sad, as Magnolia really needs a good restaurant, but I would save your and head to QA or Ballard if you want good food.
