The service here is always great and the deep dish pizza is delicious. However, be prepared to wait as it takes 40 minutes in the oven, or longer if it is a full house. View all feedback.
What Johnson Ondricka doesn't like about Patxi's - Ballard:
Hi My husband and I took 2 of his PCT hiking pals to Paxti's for dinner on July 4. While the pizza and drinks were very tasty, this place needs MAJOR help to beef up the staffing. There appeared to be only 2 people handling the entire restaurant and I felt SO BAD for bartender Paul, who was forced to manage tables while handling his bar duties. He did the best he could, but there was no way he could keep up with thin... View all feedback.
The crust was good and the sauce was good. I have a few criticisms: There was an insane amount of LARGE chunks of red onion. Practically every bite was like biting into a red onion. Also, i love Daiya cheese, but I think a firmer vegan cheese would have worked better in this context. Maybe violife? Obviously I am not an expert, just my opinion. Also, with spinach being listed as an ingredient, I expected spinach to actually be more prevalent... maybe balance the amount of red onion with spinach? I would not go out of my way to get this again. There are many more preferable vegan pizza options in Seattle.
Cook time does take quite a while as some reviews mention but this is one of my favorite places to go in Seattle. Crust is whole wheat but personally I love the flavor profile.
When I heard they had vegan deep dish pizza I had to run right over. No one else in the city offers that! But I have to say I was disappointed. The crust was pretty burnt and was very dry. I don't know if that's typical for them, maybe they just happened to forget about mine and left it in too long (and knew I wouldn't wait another 45 minutes for a new one! . Their deep dish pizzas also have whole wheat crusts so that may have been a factor. Staff was great though and they do give you fair warning about how long it takes to cook.
Unheard of Vegan Deep Dish Pizza! It is excellent and would get 5 stars if Happy Cow allowed. They use enough Daiya to make it taste like the real thing without overdoing it. Order take out ahead so you don’t have to wait 45 mins to an hour for each of their Custom pies to bake.
They have Daiya! There is a vegan deep dish pizza on the menu. It takes some time to cook, but it is delicious! And sometimes I had to remind the server that, no, I do not want parmesan on my vegan pizza. The padron pepper appetizer is pretty tasty too. The restaurant is very pretty inside, it would be great for a date. Updated from previous review on 2016-01-20
