Amazing quality and selection of beans! The staff are lovely. My main feedback is that it’s SUCH a premium price that the to-go cups for everything really takes away from the experience. (Also.. wasteful. A beautiful, locally made set of ceramic ware plus sidecars for espresso drinks and other small touches would make the price tag feel more warranted. Milstead Co. is undoubtedly one of the top coffee spots in Fremont, offering great coffee, friendly service, and a bright, inviting atmosphere. The shop features stunning full-wall windows that create an airy environment. While it's not overly cozy, it doesn't feel cold either—perhaps due to the spacious yet somewhat sparse layout resulting from COVID. There's a lovely balance of tranquility and friendliness in the air. The coffee here is superb, though it seems to stem more from precision than from passion. Their croissants, sourced from Temple Pastries, are fantastic! As for the other baked goods from Macrina, they're just average. The location is fantastic, situated right by Lake Union, with plenty of nearby attractions and places to relax.

I visited a well-known coffee shop that offers pastries from Temple, including croissants and a variety of other treats from Macrina. I tried a cardamom brioche, and it was absolutely delicious!

The freshly brewed coffees here are excellent. I highly recommend trying the Guatemalan and Ethiopian light roasts!

Tucked beneath the Aurora Bridge in Fremont, Milstead Co. is everything I want in a third-wave coffee shop — thoughtful, restrained, and quietly excellent. The space is minimalist but warm, with Scandinavian tones and just enough bustle to feel alive without overwhelming. The baristas here are serious about their craft but never pretentious. My pour-over (a washed Ethiopian from Heart Roasters) had a citrusy brightness and clarity I rarely find outside Tokyo or Copenhagen. They rotate roasters frequently, which speaks to both taste and confidence. For those who appreciate precision in their coffee and a break from the corporate-feel cafés downtown, this is the spot. A must-visit for coffee purists visiting Seattle. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
