Manolin
Description
Manolin, located in Seattle's vibrant Fremont neighborhood, was named one of America's Best New Restaurants in 2015 by Bon Appetit. Co-founded in 2014 by Joe Sundberg, Rachel Johnson, Patrick Thalasinos, and Chef Alex Barkley, this establishment offers freshly prepared, innovative New American cuisine. The menu boasts small plates of seafood, grilled meats, and garden greens that are artfully crafted to complement each other in delightful and often surprising ways. Some highlights include plantain chips with salt and pepper, rockfish ceviche, fall vegetable slaw with herbs and spicy almonds, and pork belly with chamomile, navy beans, and sea urchin. The warm, relaxed, and airy space at Manolin features a U-shaped bar and a wood-fired grill, providing the perfect setting to enjoy Caribbean-inspired cocktails and other libations as you savor the dishes.

This restaurant used to be one of my favorites before the pandemic, and I finally had the chance to return tonight. The food was just as amazing as I remembered, and the service was attentive. We were a bit chilly in the atrium, but overall it was a fantastic experience!
The kipper sandwich was delicious. However, I found the bagel to be less chewy than I would have liked, which made for a more challenging bite (not quite like the New York style). My wife thought the lox sandwich was lacking in smokiness. The salt on the chocolate cookie didn’t quite appeal to me. The espresso drinks were decent, but I think I'll opt for Stone Wolf next door next time. Overall, enjoying brunch on the covered patio next to the stone fire pit was a lovely experience.
The food was predominantly delicious. I highly recommend trying the mussel toast and the grilled hamachi tuna collars, which were a special on the day we visited. The atmosphere was delightful, and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting outdoors.
Cute Latin fusion new American restaurant with a solid cocktail selection. Loved loved loved the Brazilian cheese bread the best I’ve had! We couldn’t stop eating them! We ordered a variety of dishes, from raw to salads to skewers to whole fish. Def on the pricier side given the portion but we had a great time. PS, dogs are allowed only in the courtyard (no roof) but not in the patio (with a roof).
