**A Mixed Bag at Diesel: Seattle’s Iconic Gay Bar** Diesel, a well-known gay bar in Seattle, evokes a mix of experiences among its patrons. Many celebrate its energetic atmosphere and attentive staff, who create a welcoming environment reminiscent of a close-knit community. Guests appreciate the events hosted, from Taco Tuesdays to themed nights, and enjoy reasonably priced drinks. However, some reviews highlight troubling incidents, including a perceived lack of inclusivity and unfriendliness from bartenders. What JJ Schnabel dislikes about Diesel:
First, we love coming to Diesel. Affordable stiff drinks, hot guys. What else could I ask for? Well, as I stand around and look at the bar, I wonder about the images on the wall. Beautiful hot guys, wallpapered on the wall. Feels great until I noticed that there isn't one image showing the beautiful bears of color there. As I looked through the patrons on Friday, it was mostly white guys. I wonder if bears of color f... View all feedback.
When I entered, the strong smell of urine was quite off-putting. The atmosphere was dark and grimy, typical of a classic gay bar that feels a bit run-down.
Fantastic food, powerful drinks, and wonderfully friendly service. We always enjoy visiting this place!
The food is excellent, the drinks are strong, and the service is incredibly friendly. We always enjoy our visits here!
This is the must-visit spot in Seattle! The drinks are outstanding, and the staff is fantastic!
I want to start by saying that I’m heterosexual. My wife and I visited this establishment with our gay friends while we were in the area, and although I had never been to a gay bar before, I was eager to experience it with them. Unfortunately, I felt quite discriminated against during our visit, which was disappointing since I fully support the LGBTQ+ community and believe everyone should be free to live as they choose. It was unsettling to be treated the way we were. The bartender was quite rude and didn’t seem pleased to serve a straight couple. We ordered simple whiskey sours, but all we received was a mix of whiskey and water—pretty unappetizing. The overall atmosphere was off-putting too. We definitely won't be returning to this place, but I’m looking forward to exploring some other venues in the area. I would encourage others to try anywhere but here, and I’m excited about visiting other spots with our friends.
