Really good food all the way around. We had the Cajon Fillet and the Fillet and Fries. Both were very tasty and high quality. Friendly service at the counter. We will be back often. Making myself hungry just thinking about it. View all feedback.
My friend took me to her favorite spot for comfort food, and we were warmly welcomed by the owner, who immediately offered us a sample of their delicious cornmeal-coated catfish with tartar sauce. It was fantastic! We decided to order a complete meal, which included a pound of catfish, hush puppies, fries, and lobster mac and cheese. The owner was incredibly helpful, recommending his best menu items, providing generous portions, and even giving us several discounts, making us feel like we were receiving special treatment. The fish and fries were great, and the hush puppies and cornbread were tasty. However, the mac and cheese didn’t quite meet our expectations this time. One of the highlights was that the takeout was open late – until 2:30 am – which made it perfect for grabbing a delicious late-night snack.
This restaurant claims to serve the best catfish this side of the Mississippi, and I believe they're right. The batter is crispy, while the fish is juicy and fried to perfection. The hush puppies are bursting with delicious corn and onion flavors. The cornbread is sweet and moist, with a rich buttery taste. The tartar remoulade has a slight spicy kick that will leave you wanting more, so be sure to order extra. Just a word of caution: the portions are quite substantial, so pace yourself to avoid an overwhelming food coma!
While this place is famous for its fried food, Catfish Corner Express may actually offer the best raw seafood in Seattle for the price. Everything is incredibly fresh—I witnessed them bringing in their supplies firsthand. All of the seafood is locally sourced, and if you have any doubts, the owner is more than happy to show you videos proving it! I wouldn't have expected to find such high-quality seafood at great prices in Renton, but I'm thrilled to have discovered this hidden gem. By the way, the crab legs are out of this world—do yourself a favor and try them!
