Bratwurst and Stiegl Zweik, super good! Wish there was more than one sausage for the price, but the mustards are amazing, the fried are great, the ketchup reminds of tomato soup a little lol, and its really dang good! Cool vibe and good service as well. View all feedback.
Top-notch german beer hall in Pioneer Square. Terrific selection of draft biers and canned or bottled as well. Currywurst, pommes frites, and duck-fat sauerkraut will set you right. A few .5 liter Kolsch biers will get you ready for your next move. Oh, it's time to leave for the Sounder's match... Gute Nacht!!
Although I live in Pennsylvania and Altstadt is in Seattle, I highly recommend it. My son and new daughter in law told us last Sunday they were getting married on Thursday, and they had a gift card for the restaurant they were going to use afterward. I contacted the restaurant and heard back from Megan almost immediately. We managed to set it up that my husband and I could pay the remainder of the bill and add in a few surprises. Son and DIL were VERY surprised! Thank you, Megan!
Very quiet on a Friday night. Great food great beer great prices
After being out and about near pioneer square, my plus one and I was looking for a near by beer place and found Altstadt Bierhalle Brathaust. It was during a weekday night, so we were the only few ones in. Our server was very attentive and greeted us and seated us right upon arrival. He was very friendly and made our late night experience wonderful. We ordered couple of beers and also ordered the pomme fries. The fries were not crunchy, but it was meant to be that way. So all you crunchy frie eaters, you may skip it if its not your thing! The aioli sauce was excellent and you can never go wrong. I am a big Tabasco sauce person, so when I asked for it, the server suggested and gave me their house hot sauce called the 'jaeger sauce ' instead. Not bad, but not my thing. Especially if I knew that this tiny sauce was going to cost me 4 dollars, I would have definitely skipped it. The server did not warn us about the extra cost. Overall, Altstadt Bierhalle Brathaus experience and I would be back to try the pretzels like everyone here raves about. But other than that, I could definitely find better pubs elsewhere.
Great food, great service, great prices. What's not to love. Oh, and great beer too! Kid friendly as well!
