Reviews - La Cocina Mexican Grill
Reviews summary
This restaurant has left diners divided, with some praising its excellent service and vibrant atmosphere, while others criticize the bland food and questionable menu evolution. While many rave about the delightful flavors of dishes like taco salad and shrimp, a significant number express disappointment, noting unseasoned salsa and overly thick cheese sauce. Despite its dog-friendly vibe and enticing happy hour, a transition to modern takes on traditional recipes has alienated loyal patrons. With individual experiences ranging from gastronomic joy to mediocre bites, diners remain uncertain whether to revisit this once-beloved establishment.

This restaurant is fantastic! The food is great, the staff is lovely, and they are very dog-friendly. We had a wonderful dining experience for lunch. The prices range from $10 to $20 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect score of 5. I highly recommend trying their Cheese Dip and Black Beans. View all feedback.
What Kim Phelps dislikes about La Cocina Mexican Grill:
The restaurant didn't offer water initially, and I had to request napkins. The food was good, but I had to go inside to ask for the check while waiting for those checking in for tables. The happy hour menu was decent. View all feedback.

The food here is AMAZING! We were sat in the bar area by Brad who was very friendly and had chips with salsa and queso for a starter. We had the tuna tlayuda which was wonderful and the traditional taco salad and you should definitely have the shrimp on it. We also had Mexican street corn as a side and it was exactly what we wanted and expected. Huge thanks to Sebastian and Matt for making this a great experience! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Calamari yum queso yum shrimp tacos yum. when we first set ourselves, we were afraid that we made a mistake because the menu is a little different. but ours.
Another very good menu item. that can't be for them if they have a 10 year old children picky eater. the chapulines tostadas are definitiw for those with.
Wow, this restaurant is amazing! The food is delicious and the service is top-notch. They have a happy hour from 3-5, I can't remember if it's only on weekdays. We went for dinner this time and it was even better. Our waiter, Cary, was fantastic. He knew how to take charge, serve us, and make sure we were well taken care of. We absolutely loved having him as our waiter. The house margaritas are also fantastic. The prices are a bit high, but the overall dining experience was fantastic and we are very happy.
It's frustrating and doesn't make sense to be required to leave a tip on a takeout order.
The service at this restaurant was excellent! However, the overall dining experience was very bland. The salsa was lacking in flavor and the cheese sauce was overly thick and lacked taste. The chef definitely needs to learn how to properly season with salt. The drinks were good, but the ingredients were not clearly defined.
