Cafe Bene - SE

Hard to want to give your money to a business so burdened by dealing with customers. I'd rather walk two blocks than purchase something from this cafe in my work building.

I've had some good experiences here with good food and drink, but there only seems to be one experienced person who works here. If you aren't served by him, the customer service is very slow and the food and drink are questionably made. Ordered a green tea latte and the woman seemed very confused, wasn't sure if espresso went into it and offered to add a chai base to it ?? ...ended up just warming some milk and throwing a tea bag into it...pretty underwhelming for an overpriced beverage.

Prices weren't displayed very clearly and was kind of expensive for the type of sandwich I got. Overall though, the sandwich was not bad. Staff are pretty nice.

Relaxed European vibe apparently means the girl there to take your orders is stoned out of her gourd. I had to repeat my extremely complex order too many times: a club house and a large cappuccino. In the time it took me to say large cappuccino, she forgot what sandwich I ordered. By the time I paid for it on the debit machine (immediately after with a tap) she forgot all about the cappuccino. Waited about 10 minutes for the sandwich to be made which is totally acceptable considering how good the sandwich was, but during all that time no one made the coffee. I had to talk to two people to get that sorted out before a third came out and made it. In short, great food but I will not be back because of aweful service. I passed a place called Cafe Food which was hopping with people to get to this place which had a only couple gentleman sitting together. I know where I'll go next time.

Had lunch here and the sandwiches were very good salad was meh
