If you're in search of an authentic cheesesteak, Forefathers is the spot to visit. My husband, who hails from Pennsylvania, claims this is the best cheesesteak he's had in the Valley. We ordered large ones, and they were incredibly filling—enough for two meals for each of us. The fries were excellent, hot, and cooked to perfection. We'll definitely be returning and highly recommend that others try this fantastic plac... View all feedback.
What Deirdre Anderson doesn't like about Forefathers Cheesesteaks:
This place was clean and the staff was nice. I got a regular cheesesteak with fries. The fries were hot and fresh, like a beer-battered style. The sandwich was just ok. The bread was good but the meat portion was way too small for the bread. The cheese was placed on the bun and the meat was rested on top to melt it. There was no incorporation of the cheese and because the cheese was not put on top of the meat while i... View all feedback.
Amazing... Been going to the Tempe location for years. So glad the Scottsdale one opened. Now please come to the west valley so food isn't cold when I get home. I drive 50 miles from home just for these cheese steak sandwich. Fry sauce is flat out amazing.
I will go a country mile for a good sandwich. I live in Surprise and traveled almost 50 miles one way to find Forefathers. It was worth every mile. I ordered a large grilled stake with provolone cheese, mushrooms and green peppers. I also ordered the sweet potato fries. There was a little snafu with my order. I saw some onions on my sandwich. Can't eat them due to the fact onions don't like me. It was rectified with a new sandwich in about 5 minutes. A good Philly cheese stake requires a soft and chewy roll with enough cheese to cover from end to end. It also requires tasty meat that doesn't have an oz. of fat on it. Requirements all meet. When I am in the mood for a cheese stake ,I have found my go to place. Forefathers Philly Cheese Stake.
I?ve never really liked cheesesteaks and mainly that?s because the ones I?ve had were just your basic run-of-the-mill ones. They all taste the same and didn?t have flavor. I?ve never had a genuine Philly cheesesteak either so I?m not as savvy in what a ?real? one is supposed to taste like either. So, when I was introduced to this place by a coworker, I was blown away by how great these tasted! Everything from the bread, meat, seasoning, toppings and the cheese sauce made this sandwich so delicious and satisfying! The fries are fantastic and the options outside of the sandwich are great also. Staff here are great and makes sure everything is to your liking! Highly recommended! I just wish there was one in Queen Creek. I know it?d be a hit!
Absolutely the best cheese steaks I've ever had! This place is fantastic! The staff at the counter are quick and friendly, and the food is prepared efficiently and correctly every time we visit. The bread truly elevates this sandwich. If you're looking for an amazing cheese steak and fries, this is the spot to go!
Well done cheeseteaks !! Cheesy but not so much that your hands are getting dirty, cooked to order , and the side fridge had extra pickles, jalapeño and such that you may want to add. The fries were crisp and delicious as well. Service was friendly. Atmosphere was relaxing.
