Salsa's Taco Bar - Scotts Valley

Very grateful for the expansive vegan menu and fast drive thru service offered here. It can be difficult to find good vegan options on the go but Habanero's saves the day with tons of clearly labeled and delicious options. They even offer vegan cream cheese!

With outdoor seating, friendly and quick service, authentic guacamole, and all the popular dishes on the menu, this restaurant would easily earn 4+ stars. My go-to dish is the carnitas tacos, which did not disappoint this time either. Unlike my previous experience at another taqueria nearby, these tacos were generously filled with crispy yet juicy pork, and perfectly topped with onions and cilantro. But the unexpected surprise that truly impressed me and earned this place a well-deserved 5th star was the option for vegan versions of most dishes, complete with vegan cheeses and sour cream. While they don't advertise it much, for someone like me with a dairy allergy who also loves Mexican food, this was a game-changer. My wife tried the Vegan taco salad and raved about it, and I am definitely looking forward to coming back for more of their delicious vegan options.

I got to try the Carne asada tacos, and they were both great! The flavor of the beef itself was really good. The chips are good (my dog doesn't usually like tortilla chips very much, but he really liked these! and the salsa that came with them reminded me of a salsa this woman made for me the first time I ever visited Mexico. It was very fresh and good; the kind I could just drink ha *refreshing*. I will definitely return! Best service, and the drive thru is so convenient!

I had probably the best Molcajete (sp? ever the other night. Even in a to go container it was plated very well and the spices and ingredients were so good! My wife liked her Taco Salad plate too.

The food and drinks were delicious, the patio was clean and felt safe while dining during COVID. The highlight for me was the wide range of vegan options available.
