I visited this restaurant during a short stay in Coldingham and was not let down. The restaurant lived up to its positive reviews. Although it was quite busy and there was a bit of a wait, it was definitely worth it. I had a massive fish supper that was one of the best I've ever had. Thank you. View all feedback.
What Madgeroon doesn't like about The Tasty Plaice:
The meal of haddock and chips, along with two battered sausages and chips, came to nearly £20. However, the portion sizes of the chips were disappointingly small. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back to Tasty Plaice. View all feedback.
Visited whilst staying in Coldingham and although the fish, and the chips, are more or less cooked to order the fish is quite small and not very tasty, with a coating of very strange coloured batter, however the chips were plentiful and were good, probably won't be trying the fish again but might try something else, next time we are in Coldingham
Tasty Plaice is the best thing about coming to the caravan and that's a fact. The food is always cooked fresh and hot, you get plenty and it tastes fantastic. I stayed recently and had the cod supper with curry sauce and I ate the lot. If you are staying onsite or live locally its best to ring your order through and then collect. I only waited 20 minutes for mine, walked up at the agreed time, by passed 3 blokes already in there waiting and was handed my food, perfect. They also do gluten free options which are equally as good and the staff are really friendly too. Well deserved 5 out of 5 rating and I'm already looking forward to my next visit to the caravan in a couple of weeks just so I can go here for my Friday night chippy tea.
We had some of the best fish and chips at this restaurant. The scampi was fresh, sweet, and succulent - unlike anything we've had before. The steak pie was also delicious, and the homemade food was fantastic. The staff was really friendly, and we would definitely recommend this place.

I must say that this is the best fish and chip shop I have ever been to. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and all of the food is cooked fresh right in front of you. They don't use frozen fish here, everything is fresh and delicious. The panko prawn supper is amazing and the fish supper is delicious. Since the food is cooked fresh to order, you may have to wait a bit but it is definitely worth it.
