Many patrons rave about the cozy atmosphere, outdoor seating, and homemade cakes, particularly the delightful lemon drizzle. The café serves straightforward comfort food like toasties and breakfast rolls, often praised for their taste and presentation. However, some visitors have noted cleanliness concerns and limited cake options. While the quaint space occasionally feels cramped, friendly service and a genuine local charm help to create a welcoming ambiance. Despite some reservations, many guests leave eager to return, making it a noteworthy stop in the area.
I visited this charming café in West Linton with my family, who were in town for a visit. The café has a cozy atmosphere and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is simple but delicious. We all decided to try the tuna melt and chicken with chilli jam toasties, which were both very tasty. The service was quick, and we didn't have to wait long for our orders. We chose to eat outside and enjoyed the lovely view of the park and flowers. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would definitely return.
After a disappointing experience with Borders hospitality at West Linton golf club, we were warmly welcomed at the Olde Tea House. The toasties and coffee were delicious, served promptly and presented beautifully. We would definitely return.
Stopped here completely by chance along our drive today and grabbed some cakes to eat on the go as we didn't have time to stop for a proper lunch. Glad we did, awesome lemon drizzle cake! Pretty sure all the cakes were home made. BTW We did NOT see loads of flies buzzing around??? There was a cover over the cake stand to stop flies settling on the cakes, so I am a bit confused by the review I have just seen. Doors were quite rightly open for ventilation due to covid, and all transactions were contactless, the toilets had plenty of hand soap, plenty of paper towels, main menu was written on a chalk board (no paper menu's to worry about)....all as per gov advice /following safety measures to prevent spread of covid. Everyone we saw at the tea room had a mask on unless they were sat at a table outside. Very well thought out for a small cafe. As I said, I would go back again. Many thanks.
The Old Toll Tea House has become a special place to go to ! Lovely tea and scones, a real personal welcome, and perfect for children, with the playground next to it. Good value. Can be very popular, and limited space inside, but plenty of seats outside. A family favourite.
Lovely little cafe in the quiet village of West Linton. We stopped off for a quick drink and enjoyed some delicious lemon cake too. A quirky little place with friendly service.
