Food was very good and freshly prepared, service from staff was attentive and they all seemed pleasant. Lovely setting, just across from Dryburgh Abbey on one side and the River Tweed on another side. View all feedback.
What ALISON H doesn't like about Abbey Bistro:
Currently, The Bistro has a limited menu and the Specials remain the same each day. It seems that the restaurant is experiencing some difficulties due to a shortage of staff. View all feedback.
I made a reservation at this restaurant for two on 17th January for the 20th August. I realize that things can change, but attempting to call me at 2:30pm on the 20th August to cancel my reservation is extremely disorganized. I was traveling that day, it was a Saturday and the start of my vacation. When I arrived at 4:30pm, I received a message to call and learned that my 7pm reservation had been cancelled due to a 'function'. It was clear that the reservation was not made that afternoon. I understand that plans can change throughout the year, but please give me plenty of notice and show some apology. I am very unimpressed with your actions and I will never visit your restaurant. Luckily, I had a wonderful hamper provided by the cottage, and it wasn't even my birthday meal – my birthday was the day before.

The dinner menu is excellent. The venison was outstanding, the wine list is very good, and the service was excellent.
All meals taken on a weekend break were excellent. Lovely breakfast and excellent evening meals served. Staff very attentive.
