I visited the Taste of Belgium restaurant at the Greene on December 31, 2023, with friends. Upon arrival, a lovely lady greeted us, but 20 minutes passed without service. Meanwhile, the next group to arrive was seated and served drinks. I called the lady, who was also the manager, to inquire about the delay. She apologized and got us drinks, but our server reacted angrily when my friend expressed dissatisfaction with the service. The manager returned, and we asked her to serve us since she was available, but she refused and asked us to leave, citing racism. This experience left a sour taste, and I advise people of color to avoid this restaurant
Food was good. However this is a cashless business, which wouldn’t be bad EXCEPT when you pay your waitress the tips default to 20% go up from there. I’m usually a good tipper, but I don’t like it being assumed that the service is great and worthy of me paying 20-30% more. As well when you purchase from the bakery they automatically add a tip to your order. Cracker Barrel has more options and better food.
OMG fabulous!!! I’ll probably come back to Cincy just to eat there again. Small salad was huge. The goat cheese crepe thing is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted…ever.
Waffles were good but very small. I had a Belgian waffle with Nutella and strawberries (instead of bananas) and it was good but small. My husband had the waffle eggs Benedict it was good, but again small, especially for the price of around $15 it was only 1 waffle with 1 egg and some ham, no side potatoes or anything. The restaurant could use a little cleaning the seat next to me had a bunch of hair on it and when my sweater fell against the wall it got dirty from all of the dust on the trim.
