Au Boeuf - Schwindratzheim

Nice place 20 min from Strasburg! Very good food, very nice environment and very good people ; ..prices also very good!

On our way back to the UK from Italy on a weekday, we left the motorway at lunchtime to look for a good place to eat. We drove through this village, totally deserted with nothing open but a pizza takeaway (not after being in Italy! . We'd passed the Restaurant Au Boeuf as it looked very closed and were driving back out of the village feeling disappointed when we saw a couple of people exiting from it through a solid wooden door. We stopped and went in only to see why the village was deserted everyone was in this restaurant, and I mean everyone from workers in overalls to ladies and pensioners lunching out! We ordered the dish of the day as recommended by the waiter. While we waited, he served me the finest white house wine I have ever tasted. The meal consisted in an enormous dish of mixed local sausages, including black pudding, and the most delicious large boiled potatoes. We were too full for pudding but apparently these too are excellent. The whole meal was very reasonably priced, the service friendly and the atmosphere extremely jovial. It is family run and open (although it may not look open every day from 8.30 am to 9 pm. It will be a definite stop on our next drive through this part of France.

Toujours un plaisir d'y venir. Cuisine traditionnelle avec produits frais. Assiettes généreuses. Accueil comme si on était à la maison.

Dans un village que je ne faisais que de traverser jusque là... Une belle découverte : Une nouvelle escalade pour une très bonne Tarte flambée . Avec un service efficace et sympathique.
