This place serves very authentic food that is very moderately priced. Some of my favs: lad na with seafood or beef (broad rice noodles in a thick gravy), chicken wings, glass noodles salad with prawns n minced chicken (spicy, tangy sour, with a tinge of fresh coriander leaves -> perfect on a hot summer day), veggies in green curry, fried rice with prawns n pineapple, fried wantans filled with minced chicken, rice noo... What Hans-Josef Gebhardt doesn't like about Chiangmai:
I had been to Chiang Mai several times in the past and the food was quite decent. Don't know if the owner has changed there but this time, the food can only be described as horribly tasteless. Noodles with chicken: noodles were very hot and the chicken was very cold (frozen?)Thai red curry: No trace of coconut in the curry, only red colored water. The place has lost whatever it had. I will never visit it again. View all feedback.
First day of our Germany trip and we found this restaurant. The food is great and made us reminded the taste of our hometown cuisine. Especially the sweet'n sour pork and the chicken with garlic, love it.

The Chiangmai is located in the Supermarket REWE. It is not fancy, has an interior and an exterior Porch, which we prefer. The food is being prepared fresh in the wok. A lot of customers call ahead and pick up the takeaway (about10-15 minutes) later. The portions are good size and a large selection of dishes. The only item I personal wouldn't recommend is the sweet and sour dish all others are almost like being in Thailand and having an evening meal on the markets.
Ate here with family, 4 to 5 times. Food was good, price was fair. Very crowded around lunch time due to near by school. Had ordered soup(average), pad see ewe(very good at lunch time), not so good at dinner time, different cook!. Laps were good! Service was good for a fast food place!
I just love this place. Since about 5 year I come here when I have a course at SAP. And this year I brought my family during our holiday and they instantly fell in love with the food! Great value for money! Fresh hot meals!
