This small cafe that seats about sixty is at the top of the Karwendel Cable Car. It is an excellent place to stop for a snack or a drink. In fact it is the only place at the top apart from several paths for the many hikers. We sat and had a drink marveling at the magnificent views. The staff we came into contact with were friendly and spoke English. View all feedback.
What Kayli Cartwright doesn't like about Alpengasthaus Karwendel:
The view is magnificent but I arrive after a little bit raining on hiking road and I ask for a beer! The answer was stunning:" I can't because of the flash and it's possible to have electro shock by the draft beer machine! :) . May be, may be not.... :) View all feedback.
A robust bar and restaurant serving up traditional Tyrolean fare, perched at the top of the mountain overlooking Pertisau and only a few steps downhill from the cable car. Had a very tasty kasespetzle accompanied with a couple of cold crisp beers. But come here for the view - the Karwendel Alps and the "birds eye" views across Lake Achensee are truly superb.
After a long walk and hot trip in the cable car reached this restaurant and just wanted long cold drinks which we got very promptly. Not speaking German the menu was a bit of a mystery. A lovely waitress helped us select a light cold meal. It was a platter big enough for two with a selection of cold meats, cheese and pickles with a lovely bread.Great views of the surrounding mountains and plenty of shade at the outdoor tables. Pity Austria does not have wide ranging antI smoking rules but there were lots of tables and we managed to keep well away from the smokers. Toilets were plentiful and very clean.Able to watch the parapenters flying off the nearby field.
