In the sense that there are things to se... read more The area where the restaurant is is super nice and I liked that in the village they somehow tried to make it touristic! In the sense that there are things to see and to do nice places for food like this one where actually you can also stay there over night! Probably I would go again unless I want to try something new, but overall very nice impression and the staff is super kind

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and they provided a nice big crib for our two year old. There was plenty of parking just across the street. The only thing to consider is since the windows looked over the square it was very noisy outside so we couldn't open the windows to cool off the room when it was time for our toddler to go to sleep. Other than that it is a great location to stay and within driving distance to several points of interest in the area. I would recommend this place!

It is fantastically located right in the town center making it the perfect spot to explore Schiltach from. The bar and restaurant in the hotel has great food and is a huge plus to staying here.

The floors creak a bit, but this is to be... read more The Gasthof Sonne is great. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The washroom was clean and modern as well. The floors creak a bit, but this is to be expected from an older building. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The hotel itself is beautiful, and Schiltach is amazing as well. There are trails around the village that are worth investigating as well; a map can be picked up for free at the tourist office. The Gasthof restaurant is very good as well, with many local dishes. The cafe in the square across from the hotel is worth a visit as well. The service was very good, the family that owns the hotel is very welcoming. Breakfast is quite good as well, with a large selection. I had a very enjoyable stay.
