+7 - Schaerding

Menu is ok but could be more interesting. Food quality was good and service very attentive. For a covid context the seats were far too neat and the room was not ventilated at all

The restaurant on the first floor has a nice terrasse for an outside dinner or coffee and cake. The service was very attentive and relaxed and the food exellent.

We were referred to the Lachinger by our travel organisation. Friendly service, busy holiday atmosphere with an assortment of tourist groups, good traditional food.

On a beautiful, balmy evening, we had the perfect setting for dinner. Lachinger specializes in local cuisine of the season, which means many things made with pumpkin but also some specials with truffles at this time of year (bit earlier than expected). I like pumpkin soup and their style is not my favorite style, but it was still good. The main courses my wife and I chose included the truffle risotto with very good beef filet and the pumpkin noodles with large medallions of good beef. Salad was perfectly fine, but not notable. Portions are sizeable, so we were unable to even think of dessert. Service was friendly. Only real quibble was that the risotto was a little too over-cooked but not really by much.

We had some nice local food with excellent local beer at this restaurant in the middle of Schaerding. The terrace overlooking the moat of the old town fortifications is perfect on a summer evening.
