Service was excellent as was the food. We shared a bowl of small squid in a spicy sauce, then I had some sea bass iwith a courgette sauce and some delicious grilled vegetables on the side, my husband had spaghetti Ragu which was good but still his favourite for that dish is at Frantoio in the Kings Road. What Stockywalters doesn't like about Al Convento:
Read the reviews and thought we wpuld visit. Most unwelcome although there was a table available the smoking maitre d appeared to want to blow smoke in our face. Shame!!! View all feedback.
You need a reservation to sit here. The view is good but make sure to specify you want a table with a view otherwise you will be seated near a wall with no view. We waited 30min for a bottle of wine (having a reservation). It did not even arrive with the food but we had to ask. Was brought once we almost finished to eat. While we were seated near the wall other clients got a spot with great view after staff moved a table for them. Took my girlfriend here and that was a mistake. Food more expensive than other spots in Scarlino and same quality.
This is a place you definitely want to see and experience! The location is breath taking with a stunning view in a medieval convent. We have been here three times, always trying different dishes and it was all excellent! The employees were proper, well mannered and efficient. We will certainly come back!
As we hade a meeting near and off time, searching place is open and ready to serve a quick lunch ! So we find Ristorante Al Convento, we entered as a museum and did not understand where is the Restaurant, so some people show us where to go and in my mind i thought a restaurant in the cellar which also no bad for this time of the year ! So we walked and turned UNTILL WOW like a perfect picture of Toscana dream ! What i like in local restaurant if there having a lunch local people does not matter are the workers or it`s just shows the quality, usually after crisis the restaurant have been activated business lunches and having also special offers for local, what is nice to support ! The welcoming was warm, we got a nice table, as the temp 32 so a glass of prosecco is must. Our nice waiter told maybe we would like to have a nice Rose and why we should say NO ! After 30 sec we had on our table a nice bottle of Rose (yes we ordered 2 glasses but he did not told that we have to buy a bottle, so it was nice move, nice to have a bottle on the table and i like when the waiters are smart sellers . Italian rose for me and as i understand most of the Italian is strange, but i have to say that last period i have been trying many nice Italian Rose, so the world habits come to Italian wine makers also ! About the food i am honest this time give me just something and hurry i ordered pasta ragu, insalata mista, cold tomato soup and Ravioli with ricotta and zukini with stracciatella. Tomato soup very nice dish, tasty light... Pasta ragu i was again surprised because not a fan of fresh pasta but what can i say, it was delicious. Ravioli camoon all the ingredients say everything. Insalata mista very nice and fresh. The wine, yes we enjoyd all the bottle : some coffee and ready to go. The bill we payd in vinoteka 50 m from restaurant and of course we take with couple of bottles this rose (meaning of good waiter . The Service was excellent, very very friendly, smooth, even full of felicita ! Recommending indid ! The price we had 1 bottle of wine in restaurant, 2 we take with food 85€ total so food cost max 30 35 for 4 dish ! Also very nice that the Herbs they pick up in 5m from restaurants !

Fantastic restaurant in a convent . location with view that is only that . divine dinner . baccalà al convento moscardini al sugo and pastna of chickpeas with fabulous shrimps . Below dumplings with spaghetti fish sword aubergines and olives . spaghetti with squids and pistachios . excellent . to conclude spigola to the fresh oven and excellent . wide choice of wines . price seen the excellent eating .
