The food at this restaurant was fantastic! We started off with the delicious jumbo crab cakes, which were incredibly tasty and fresh. For our main course, we ordered the medium-sized cod, which was also a generous portion. We couldn't complain about the size of the portions, as they were quite large. We finished off the meal with a delicious Baileys trifle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was our second... View all feedback.

Called here with my daughter and partner at 5pm the other saturday. We had already eaten lunch and just wanted a coffee and a slice of cake. We was told by an older member of staff that the tea room was closed.... even though the cake cabinet was full... View all feedback.
Since this cafe changed hands just over a year ago, it has become a welcoming and friendly place to go for light refreshments. The coffee is great and the food is presented beautifully. Staff are lovely, especially the owner and his partner. Nothing is too much trouble and custom is very much appreciated. My one gripe is that dogs are allowed into the cafe and while loving the place, I really do object to having large dogs shaking themselves next to me while I'm eating. The owners, I understand, are dog lovers but there's a time and a place and an eatery isn't appropriate. The cafe is fabulous. I'm a very regular customer. I hope that others like me don't feel their custom should go elsewhere. It's five star without the animals but four star today...
We stopped here on our way home, when we arrived there was no one in the restaurant, we looked at the menu and were shocked with the expensive prices, since we were there we thought we should order, when it came you do get a substantial portion but the first chip I ate tasted of pure grease, the fish looked big but in actual fact it was just all batter, then it started to go soggy on the plate and ended up been a plate of greasy mush! The bread was stale and tasted of perfume! Cheap slices of bread for an overpriced meal!..I won’t be going back here again!
Good food and service, a pleasant experience. Consistently good every time we go. menu is a little limited at times, though the portions sizes are good and lovely side salads.

Walker’s tea rooms are in East Ayton on Main Street, and they are well worth a run out from town. We had a lovely drive along Forge Valley, which brings you out right opposite Walkers.
