Pleasant walk along North Bay beach, past the Sea life Centre and found this very popular pub. Busy for a weekday lunchtime. Staff friendly and welcoming on arrival. Nice views of the sea from the main windows. Cosy with a nice atmosphere. Decent choice on the menu ranging in price from light bites to large meals. Decent prices and dog friendly. What GlasgowHappyHolidays doesn't like about The Old Scalby Mills:
We stopped for lunch before visiting the sea life centre and yes its food was better quality and value than was on offer at thr sea life centre but it was still average. Firstly they had no milk, yes No milk so black tea or coffee only. Milk I would have thought was a basic. My special chorizo and sundried tomato panini was dry and pland. The kids looked better View all feedback.
My lovely friend took me here for lunch and it has changed a bit since I was last here many years ago! We had lunch and the menu was very extensive and it was difficult to choose but the steak pie, mash and peas were so good and talk about loads of steak

Brilliant food Brilliant service steak pie mash with garden peas we both enjoyed our meals and one of us couldn't finish it so took it away for another meal

This is definitely the place to go if you're looking for dog friendly, child friendly, wheelchair friendly. We visited for my son's birthday and the staff couldn't have been more attentive and lovely. The food was fantastic, atmosphere relaxed and all the staff were amazing. What a great place to eat. Thank you to everyone who made us all (10 of us) feel special.
