What robinhenshaw doesn't like about Panorama At Raven Hall:
The restaurant overlooks Robin Hoods Bay and the food is good. I'd Whitby scampi which I thought was appropriate. The staff were nice but there were no real ales at the bar, which was a disappointment. View all feedback.
We had an excellent Afternoon Tea which was Vegan and Gluten Free in the panorama restaurant. The views were amazing. The Staff were really lovely and helpful.
The coffee was decent and the scone was a nice touch, but the reason you'd stop here is not really for all of that. It's for the views. After you've had your fill, walk around the grounds here. They are easily the best views you'll have all day. The parapets and the outer courtyards are sublime to say the least. If you're lucky, you'll hear the seals below.
Walking the Cleveland way, we were told walkers were welcome, so we calledin for a coffee and ended up having lovely warm scobes with jam and clotted cream in lovely surroundings. Well worth a walk in the gardens and the castelated walls. The views are spectacular.
The food here is absolutely amazing, we had the steak and the duck breast and it was delicious! We felt really safe and at peace being there just as places were starting to open after the pandemic, so was great to share it in such a beautiful place.
The sandwiches, chips and coleslaw served for lunch in the bar area are lovely. We had lunch in the cosy lounge area. The food is ordered at the bar and then brought out to your table. Service at lunch was quick and efficient. There are socially distancing measures in place and a 2 m queuing system at the bar. After lunch we went for a walk along the cliffs and thought we would return for afternoon tea. However, the table we had sat at for lunch had been cleared away but the table had not been cleaned down, with some salt we had accidently spilt at lunch still on the table. There was a long queue at the bar and service was so slow that we eventually gave up and left. They need more staff on on an afternoon as well as making sure that tables are cleaned down and sanitized between customers in these covid-19 times.
