Harbour View Cafe - Scarborough

A proper cafe including attitude … there’s more hair on the premises than clothes Listen we are here food was ok. staff young and old were not overly friendly and although there were only 3 small tables occupied we waited quiet a while for takeaway

Have been many times for the best breakfast in Scarborough but have only just tried the Saturday evening menu It was fabulous, beautifully prepared and presented fish and seafood Thank you

Arrived to a full care but the last serving managed to squeeze us in which we were grateful for. We both ordered the full breakfast with drinks. The full breakfast comes with either poached, scrambled or fried eggs. We were not asked which we wanted so I asked for lightly cooked scrambled eggs as I do like them slightly runny. Whilst waiting it was hard not to notice the number of flies in the cafe. I know it's above the fish market but it was very distracting and there was at least 15. When the breakfast arrived there wasn't scrambled eggs but there was overcooked fried eggs. The bacon was extremely overcooked and was very salty. The hash Brown's were overcooked they were just much inside. The same for the beans. The lady serving was nice and we heard her say that she was on her own so we didn't mention anything. The cafe was very full and we'd waited quite a long time for the food to come as it's freshly cooked so we didn't want to wait for a replacement. I've looked at other photos that people have posted and their breakfast looks fabulous. Unfortunately for us on this day it was very disappointing.

To see my wife’s face light up as we entered the Harbour Cafe on or recent trip to Scarborough, was a joy. She hadn’t been in over 52 years, when she was a small child. She instantly ordered a Knickerbocker Glory , as it was her favourite all those years ago. She said it tasted exactly the same “ Fabulous “. The American ice cream parlour theme is marvellous, and the staff are excellent!! I had the largest ice cream I’ve ever seen!! And wonderful value. Highly recommend and we will definitely be going back to rekindle those happy memories.

Tasty, good quality ingredients. Good service too even though they were busy. Great view over the harbour.
