These are the best fries I've had in a while. I prefer my fries to be soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. The service was friendly. It felt like we were not in a pandemic as salt and ketchup were readily available, but that's the only criticism I have. View all feedback.
What Stuart P doesn't like about First Catch Fish And Chips:
I ordered Gluten free fish and chips and Sausage and chips from this restaurant, both were okay. However, the fish in my fish and chips was very small compared to what I have seen in other fish and chip shops, and it was also dry in comparison to the gluten free version. I felt that for the price, the value for money was poor and I would not be returning to shop here again. These meals were ordered for takeaway. View all feedback.

After 5 minutes, the man frying the food (presumably the owner) shouted out an order that was similar to ours and we were unsure if it was for us. After barking the order at us again, we approached the counter. I noticed that the plain sausage we had ordered was actually battered, so I informed the young man at the till who had taken our order. The owner snatched the box back without apologizing, replaced it with a plain sausage, and placed it back on the counter. The young man then apologized on the owner's behalf. I then asked for the gluten-free vinegar stored behind the counter, away from the regular vinegar containing gluten. The young man handed it to me, but as I was pouring it on my chips, the owner started shouting at me to do it at the other side of the shop. When I tried to explain that I was using the gluten-free vinegar, he walked away. By this point, a few other customers had entered the shop and witnessed the entire exchange. The food was good, but due to the owner's attitude and rudeness, I will not be returning to this establishment. It left me feeling angry and disappointed.
We were caught in a heavy rainstorm and had trouble finding a place to go. We had intended to go to First Catch, but my friend couldn't recall if they had seating. They didn't, but the staff member at the counter kindly permitted us to bring in some chairs and enjoy our fish and chips at a table indoors while it was pouring outside. Thank you for your hospitality!

If you're not a fan of fish and chips cooked in lard, then First Catch is the perfect chippy for you! The staff are really friendly, the quality of the food is top-notch, and the outdoor seating is just perfect. My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Thank you!
