Took my whole family, including two in wheelchairs. Staff were very helpful and made us feel at home. Food was so tasty and fresh. Naan straight from the oven was hot and delicious. I'll be back for more. View all feedback.
Good North Indian varieties and taste , Impressive smiling welcome treatment, Good location, Prompt service,
Tucked into a small plaza in western Scarborough, Mayur (peacock) delivers with delicious food cooked in Delhi style. The lunch buffet offers many vegetarian choices as well as goat, chicken dishes. The family run business provides attentive excellent service. Lunch is good value.
Very good food, bit on the price'y side, but the service makes up for that. Would recommend this place and the chicken tikka masala especially.
Finding a gem of an Indian restaurant in Scarborough was a real perk to our vacation. The lamb Roganjosh and lamb Vindaloo were ordered with anticipation and all expectations were met with full bodied sauces, nice blend of spices and tender meat. The portions were good along with a tasty Aloo Gobi and a spectacular garlic naan. The staff were friendly and happy to accommodate our requests for the Mango Chutney and the after dinner coffee that was not on the menu but came recommended was a nice change. Convenient location, clean and spacious interior and timely service all added to completing our wonderful experience. We will certainly be returning next time in town.
I am very happy to report that this family run restaurant has excellent food. I mean... excellent. It was around 5:00pm on Sunday and we saw a few reviews on google of people liking this new restaurant and how authentic the food was. We gave it a try and stopped in to order take out. The place was empty and we were wondering if we made the right choice, but it was Sunday early evening, and the aromas from the kitchen made us want to order. We ordered what we normally get when trying out a new Indian place... Butter Chicken, Daal Makhani, and Lamb Biyrani... and 3 Naan. Yes it was a ton of food, and yes we have amazing leftovers! While we waited for our order we had a chat with the brother and sister who worked the cash. Their father is the chef and they did a nice job explaining their father's background and experience... and his authentic dishes.Bottom line. Everything was really good and prices reasonable... definitely get your money's worth. Butter Chicken was creaming and not overly sweet like some places. The tandoori chicken in the butter sauce had a good spice kick, but the sauce itself was flavourful but not too spicy so you can balance out the spice as yoi needed. The Daal Makhani was the one I loved the most. Just perfect... the lentils and beans were well cooked and sauce amazing. The Lamb in the Biyrani was boneless and tender. It was a very different dish than we've had in the past with caramelized onions and mint it had a sweet spice to it that I enjoyed but my wife liked less (but still pretty darn good).Oh... before I forget... the naan are huge. They said 1 was enough for 2 people and he was right. But we are totally ok having leftovers. We will definitely come back. We live downtown Toronto, so we are going to have to work it in when we are in the area... totally worth the drive.I recommend going and giving them a try.
