I ordered a vegetarian meal for 20 people. The food tasted good, but there wasn't enough curry for everyone. There was a lot of rice, making it appear like a large order, but there weren't enough curries to go around. It ended up being enough for 17 people, but a lot of food went to waste. The meal was a delightful adventure, with dishes that were different from traditional Indian cuisine. Our request for mild spiciness was mostly accommodated, although there were occasional bursts of heat. The portions were generous, and we ended up taking half of our meal home with us. The Sri Lankan menu could use some explanations for those unfamiliar with the cuisine. Located in a strip mall at the corner of Ellesmere Road and Kennedy Road, the restaurant offers ample parking. The surroundings may be a bit worn down, but the hidden dining room behind the takeout counter provides a cozy setting. We visited on a Friday afternoon and had the restaurant to ourselves. Overall, Hopper Hut offers a unique dining experience worth exploring.
The food at this restaurant is incredible. You must try the plain hoppers and Appams with mutton curry - they are delicious. The mutton rolls and fish bun were also great. And the Masala chai was the perfect way to end the meal. I will definitely be visiting again.

When asked about a specific menu item, the person said different employees would have different answers. However, they did mention "kartoffels," which are not on the menu. The person even began crying before I ended the call. To improve their business, they need to provide better customer service. Many other restaurants are more accommodating and friendly.
This is a great spot to experience Sri Lankan cuisine. The dishes can be quite spicy, so be sure to request a milder level of spice when placing your order. They also offer a variety of takeout choices, from hoppers to biryani. The staff is welcoming and the prices are fair. Highly recommended for fans of Sri Lankan and South Indian cuisine.
