We have been trying Chinese food places in the area and this one did not disappoint. It is a bit greasy but the portions are very good and it tastes really good too. It is hakka style and you won't find pork on the menu. We have gone there three times so far and got takeout because we enjoyed it. It is not as good at Steeles Garden but that is too far away west on Steeles. Their spicy sauce is hot but delicious! View all feedback.
What Tishy assorted Trish doesn't like about Good Luck Chinese Restaurant:
I have been a faithful customer for more than 20 years. However, when I recently visited, I was disappointed to see that the atmosphere, service, and quality of food have deteriorated significantly. The restaurant now looks dirty and cluttered, with dirty tables. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. View all feedback.
Their choice of name for the restaurant may spark quite alot of sarcastic remarks BUT the proof is in their cooking. We ordered takeout and asked for extra spicy.Upon arrival at home, we unpacked the food and began our meal.Firstly, their takeout portions are huge !!!! They literally pack the takeout containers till they are bulging at the sides !!! And, they actually made the food extra hot as requested. We ordered chilli beef dry, chicken pakora, veg fried rice, singapore rice noodles, and hot and sour soup. Everything is great !!!They are our new go to hakka restaurant. Please take note tjis review is from a few years ago. The new owner does not practice the same care as the previous owner Peter L.
Get your driver's to STOP BLOCKING the whole road .. than they have the odasidy to scream at me for asking them to move their big truck!!!
I ordered the chili chicken (with less sauce) and Manchurian beef noodles. It was fantastic, the chili chicken pieces were still crispy with just the right amount of sauce. The flavor was great, and the chili oil with chopped garlic added a nice touch. I noticed there was a new lady at the front, and she was really kind and friendly.
I came literally at closing and asked if they were able to take one last order, and they did. They were very kind to me, I ordered a pakora chicken and beef with onions, and it came with rice.I got to say, the pakora chicken is actually really good, it’s one of the better ones I’ve had actually. It was crispy, not overly spicy, and tasty! It came with 11 pieces in my order, and I’m glad I bought it.The beef with onion had a good ratio of beef to onion, I used to come here before years ago and I know it used to be saucier. It’s different now, but no complaints really, it’s a bit on the blander side, but it’s not too bad. Eating both the pakora chicken and beef together was actually a nice pairing. They were so nice to even give me a cold water bottle freely, which is what I needed because I was really thirsty.I looked at the other reviews as well, and I yes, the place is more crowded with stuff than usual. I can understand some tables being messy and such, they are an older couple, who are doing it alone, and i respect their dedication.I did my order take out, and it was a good experience. I suggest everyone to try it out! Especially that pakora.Google won’t let me add photos, but it looked really appetizing!
