As a lover of dining out, I highly recommend this place. The fish is fresh and beautifully cooked. The mixed fried fish is recommended because it's very light. The appetizer is also good. We also had the seafood linguine, where I thought the pasta was a little overcooked; it would have been better if it was even more al dente. In my opinion, this is the ideal location for people looking for a quiet, uncluttered place to spend a relaxing evening with just the right amount of privacy. The service is quick and friendly.
Great place to rest up and have a cold drink and bite to eat. Owners are English and really nice. If in scalea, go visit.
A lovely little place by the sea. Very friendly and outgoing service, almost biased. The problem is the food: of all the dishes we ordered, the only decent one was a fried fish dish; the rest was poor, at times inedible. A place for tourists.
Absolutely amazing! I eat here everytime I'm in town, and they never miss a trick! Family run business, Toni, Jessica and Marion are such amazing people, the food is excellent and the service is well taken care of... All this topped with the sea breeze and the amazing view of the beach front and the sea rocks of Ajnella from the restaurant porch! Highly recommended... Ask for the fresh fish of the day!
The establishment's bar and restaurant offer a good selection of fresh dishes. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. The L'Ancora beach establishment is an ideal choice for those seeking a relaxing day by the sea. Situated in a prime location, it offers well-maintained beaches and a welcoming atmosphere.

This beach bar and restaurant is run by very friendly staff and serves excellent food, the premises are spotless and the beach loungers immaculate, they have toilets and showers and the sunsets are among the best in the world
We love coming back to L'Ancora for their fantastic lunches. This time we had the cotoleta con patatine, gnocci salmone asparagi, and mixed grilled vegetables. Everything was delicious as always, with excellent, fast service!
This was our second visit to L'Ancora after enjoying it so much the first time. This time for lunch, we had the gnocchi with shrim and peccheri with grouper and both were fantastic. Somehow we managed some room for a delicious date desert made with cream and white chocolate, and finished things off with a tartuffo. The setting was so beautiful right by the beach, and the service was spot-on. Don't pass up this gem of a restaurant next time you're anywhere near Scalea.
We had been recommended this place for dinner and walked away really disappointed. Watching the sunset was the best thing about our visit here. Having said that, one of our party did go off-menu and ordered Carbonara which they happily accommodated and that was good.
