Garden State Deli - Sayreville

I was in search of a good meal during a break from teaching at the fire academy, so I found this place just 6 minutes away. I called in my order, and I have to say, it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. As someone who frequently visits great delis, that's saying a lot! I ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich with peppers, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic. The cutlet was still warm, the bread was perfectly balanced—not too soft and not too hard. The service was friendly, and the price was excellent. I’ll definitely be returning!

This is by far the best New York-style deli I've discovered in New Jersey after living here for 20 years, having moved from Staten Island. Without a doubt, it's the best! I visited yesterday and tried the fresh mozzarella Italian hero, and today I had their renowned homemade roast beef sandwich, complete with homemade mozzarella, caramelized onions, and gravy on a toasted hero. This roast beef sandwich sells out within a couple of hours every Tuesday, so I highly recommend calling ahead to place your order! I devoured the entire sandwich and completely forgot to take a photo, LOL. Everyone needs to check out this place!
