On our recent trip to Saverne we were shattered so needed something to eat and saverne is quite pricey. Came across Carpe d'or as it looked very attractive. It's run by a Mum and her daughter, who were both very friendly and spoke some English too.The menu was quite gourmet but we picked the burgers which were unusual but tasty. I also had a chocolate desert which was superb. It was a pleasant atmosphere, clean toilet... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Carpe D'or:
Think this restaurant no longer exists. We were in Saverne last week and went into the town on Saturday 20th August i.e. the height of the season but this building was not open and there was no evidence it had been for some time, View all feedback.
Just got takeout lunch from hereMy boyfriend and I got a Buddha bowl each.
Ordered: Moroccan Tagine and Burgerplex 5000 & Marblz (Seriously, pretentious sounding burger) and Kids fried & kids sliders. We went for the vegan
Nice casual dining spot with delicious food and drinkNice atmosphere for chatHowever slightly pricey for what you get.
We were on a stop-over on a longer trip doing some sightseeing and looking for Dinner, and this restaurant was really nice. Located in the middle of the village, parking on a place directly in front. Most attractions of Saverne just a small walk away, and a really special place: The restaurant is in a really old house, well maintained, with really excellent food. Our sun felt as if this could be "too formal" on the 1st impression, but they had even a children menu and were really friendly. So, a big recommendation if you're in Saverne if you're looking for good local food and you're willing to pay a bit for a nice environment.
Found this wonderful, super friendly, quaint Alsatian cuisine restaurant on our way to Selestat from Paris. Stopped here in Severne for dinner and found a beautiful, quaint restaurant with the nicest, most personable, local new friends who helped us order (no English speaking servers or translations here). Our dinner consisted of a huge platter of savory meats, sausages, duck confit, cured and braised pork which our new friends ordered on our behalf and a wonderful Riesling. Plentiful and satisfying and very sweet. A memorable experience.
