Dockside Seafood - Savannah

Dockside’s big plus is the convenient location along the river which means some great views. Outdoor seating is limited and we were lucky to get a table. Food is not that expensive. We ordered puppies, corn on cob and couple of drinks. Beware the food is oily and people seem to like the oil friend taste. I found it heavy on my stomach. The cocktails were better. If you want to sit at a riverside joint, I will recommend this for cocktails.

Food was tasty and service was good and fast. Almost broke a tooth on one fried oyster shell that snuck into the batter. I had to spit that out. Then I went for another giving them the benefit of the doubt. Another shell in the batter. Let them know about my fear of eating their food and was comped $5 dollars off my meal. Beware of oysters. Management doesn’t talk to you about anything. Just a server and a $5 comp. Still tipped $10 because I’m not a trash human being.

We're hungry when we crossed the riverfront. We stopped and enjoyed the cozy historical feeling and delicious food. The sea red tuna was fresh and perfectly cooked. I sampled the shrimps and dimples that are different from traditional cooked dimples, but they serve the shrimps and creamy cheese sauce with garnet cake. The added crunch on the outside adds a delectable element to the food. We also enjoyed the shrimp-poboy sandwich with frits. The temperature inside was a bit warm, but otherwise no discomfort. We loved that the menu was a small historical passage about the origins of the restaurant and building joists and masonry as it stands since the 1790s.

The food is delicious and freshly prepared. Wonderful sandwiches and fries. And the view from the outside seat is just fantastic. Stuffs are friendly and very friendly. Overall a great place to taste South cuisine in Savanah

My family and I enjoyed our visit to the Dockside Seafood Restaurant in Savannah, GA on 17. September 2022. The hostess could put us in less than a minute! We had served our drinks in a few minutes and our food was served in about 20 minutes! Our server was Jada Boo and she was a treasure and very fast! The mood and atmosphere was super and family friendly! We started with the post depicted by Fried Green Tomato! They were very tasty. The outer crisp was on the square and the tomatoes themselves had a nice firm bite. It is taste was very close to the fried pimples! The diving sauce had a light Cajun taste. My wife had the lunch of Fried Catfish, also with the post. The fries were good and the catfish was very thick and hearty! Great taste and well cooked. I would recommend using another paper the line of the basket or tablet as the red ink was transferred from the paper to the fish. I had the Low Country Boil, also pictured! The sausage was very good and the shrimps were perfect without towing required. Simply peel, dip into butter if you want and eat. The potatoes were well cooked and seasoned. The corn was also on the square and well seasoned! Overall great culinary experience and would definitely recommend trying it!
