If you are looking for a place which is very casual, no pressure and friendly staff with interesting food then this is the place. The theme for the Barrelhouse is to offer variety with smaller plates and does it well. Although the menu is quite small the tapas type meals were both interesting and mostly very good. Went for a girls night out as our last time we visited we had awesome service and amazing food, the service on our last visit was extremely slow, it took over an hour to get our apps and the server did not come back very often to see if we required refills on our drinks. The theme for the Barrelhouse is to offer variety with smaller plates and does it well. Although the menu is quite small the tapas type meals were both interesting and mostly very good. Clearly it allows the chef some creativity where they mostly work and the odd one doesn't quite. The fun is exploring which ones meet anticipation and which don't. Local beer on tap and actually suprisingly cheap wine by the bottle made this an very enjoyable evening altogether.
The food taste was excellent but the portion was small. The service was very good. The atmosphere was very nice. This restaurant would be good for a date night.
We were treated immensely well.. The food was beautiful and very flavourful.. The lighting was soft and highlighted the artwork on the walls along with the artwork on our tables.. The music was fantastic.. we truly enjoyed the whole experience!It's refreshing to have such a great atmosphere with so much elegance, yet homely nature, in the Sault.
Power went out halfway thru dinner...chef made specialty drinks and sat with us and chatted. Food was excellent and we were treated like family. Couldn't ask for a better meal or service.
