Baldy's Smoked Meats - Saugatuck

I was very excited to visit a highly rated smokehouse in michigan on the way to the tulip festival in holland. the customer service here was top-notch, but the customer service does not compensate for bad quality grill. I ordered her family dinner for 8 people, which is a bit of food. Unfortunately, most of these foods were unusable, which was unfortunately because I spent over $100 on this place. I begin with the positive — the sausage was well fed and very good. the quality of the side was medium. we had borons, makkaroni and cheese baked, gurken, “Elotes”, which is only corn-blue. none of these sides were smoked. the makkaroni and cheese was very basic white cheddar without nuance in taste, no speck, no broth crumbs. the pickles were great, spicy and sweet. the possibilities for improvement — the north carolina vinegar sauce was very watery. the pulled pork was so dry and there was no type of smoke ring. I understand the purpose of not oversizing the swarm to leave something bite, but there were as whole muscle groups stuck together, which peeled apart like wood fiber. the chicken quarters had a nice smokey scent, but that fooled me when the skin was pretty gum-like. I broke into the chest and wing quarters, the chest was very dry and the wing was understated. when I moved into the middle of the flesh, this coarse raw chicken fragrance becomes clearer. to be clear, we had 8 chicken quarters, none of which were edible, because each quarter looked like the attached picture. yes, that's a photo of soony's chicken quarter. I did not buy the brisket because I saw some discs that they used to other customers, and again there was no smoking ring. All-in-all, I am convinced that this is not a smokehouse. Given the fact that it has an average rating of today on google, I am worried that the people of michigan do not know what smoked meat is, the quality has been done in the run of the years, or the reviews are fraudulent. I probably wouldn't eat here again.

I often stay at the beautiful well kept Saugatuck Cottage Suites and walk here to Baldy's with a friend for the BEST brisket ever! And a side of cheesy potatoes and baked beans... Yummmm!

Long time customers but after our first order this season we definitely won’t be back. Very small portion of the A la Carte, we received just three chunks of bunt ends and two slices of brisket the was 90% fat. Complete disappointment and waste of money.

I’d love to give them 5 stars. Last year the ribs were the best I have ever eaten. We couldn’t wait to eat there again and we did last weekend. We ordered the Ribs and Mac n Cheese with extra pickles. Something has changed with the ribs seasoning, it is definitely not the same flavors as last year. I am so disappointed that they changed their seasonings for the ribs, they were perfection last year, please please go back to the way you did them last season.The Mac n Cheese was awesome and the pickles are so delicious sweet with a spicy kick. I will come back in a couple months to try the ribs again in hopes that they are just like last season and change to a 5 star review, if not I’ll at-least come back for the Mac n cheese and pickles.
