A great DJ and music. The DJ filled the ground with passion, feeling and tasty attitude. We asked and his name i Mathias Warg from Sweden
A ski trip to St Anton is not complete without Gunars’ winding guitar and vocals! He nails it! “Comfort taub”? Of course! 500 miles? Yes, and in a perfect Leithian accent! Do not let Gunar's light, self-effective start to...set.... At the end you stand on the tables, scream the songs and call after addition! The power of Gunar....altitude....beer and jagermaster makes everything possible!! Bravo G
I've been here quite a few times, normally in the 5-9pm range usually to see Gunar play, but occasionally to see other live music there. The bar itself is quite long and thin so there are only a few seats where you get a very...close view of the live music but the sound quality is good. There is a downstairs area as well which is used later in the evening for events. They have the usual selection of Austrian beer, I think it was Stiegl if I remember correctly plus they have Maisel Weiss Dunkel Weissbier which is pretty good. The bar staff are good at making sure everyone gets their drinks topped up without a long wait. For those who have not seen Gunar before he's been playing in St Anton for 30 years or so and has moved venue from the Piccadilly to the Kandahar (now renamed) and for the last few years the Murmel. He's got a great selection of songs which vary from night to night depending on the mood. He's an excellent guitarist and not a bad singer too. Well worth a visit to the Murmel to see him.
Very cool place with a very cross-cultural guest mix, live music, big beers for little money, open till the last guest wants to leave (what normally is the case clearly after 4 a.am.
