really great experience: much more than a typical restaurant on the ski slopes. we enjoyed very tasty Swiss cuisine and the best apfelstrudel of all time! really suggested also for the food price and the very nice terrace View all feedback.
What Mac Schmeler doesn't like about Berggasthaus Herrenboden:
good food, good service, but very long waiting times! children had to wait some hour for the food. eating came staggered over a time of 45 minutes to our table! staff unfortunately took up the critique very badly. ;-( View all feedback.
Moderately spicy and potato salad. but what is strange to pay for the water of behavior during the meal. water on the bill was registered by service personnel. average boiled sausage with brot or potato salad: nothing remarkable. what was unforgettable instead was to pay for the water we were drunk. during our lunch.
Live in Switzerland we are quite used to the (very low) level of ease in Swiss mountain restaurants. Therefore, most people tend to reach more customer-friendly Alpine resources such as Austria or Italy. for a day trip seemed to be saddle, only 60 min. from home, the right choice. the number of pists is very small and usually with tow lifts that I thought died. but this was ok, as for a day it was actually fun. but the rudeness of this restaurant staff was not to believe. first they avoid looking into our direction for 20 minutes, although we try to point out that we were ready to order. then they pushed my son because they had opened a tiny 5 ml sniff bag and said that he was wasting him because he was free. but the best thing was when we came back quickly after paying an ugly bill when my daughter said she was thirsty. because we only had credit cards (which is more practical to wear during skiing), my man asked for a glass of water. the same waitress then insisted to see prove that the water was for the child and not for him! I know it is hard to believe.
We have spent a day on skis and in the heart floor we have taken a light lunch: bündner gerstensuppe, a winter salad, Älpler-Magronen mit apfelmus. all very delicious, all very fresh. to the dessert we eat the best cream cuts we have ever met. the service was both attentive and friendly. absolutely recommended for a return on a ski day!
Whether in summer or winter. in the heart floor there is a cozy and rustic atmosphere. the personal is friendly, grounded and fast. for starving everyone finds something. whether the tasty day menu or a paärli wienerli it tastes always. always like to go in the heart floor.
