I have been to Izumi a few times now and their rolls are like edible artwork. They take a little longer to get to your table, but when they do, they are a feast for the eyes as well as the belly. They seemed a little under staffed, which lead to longer than normal wait times for our food, but the wait was well worth it as the food was well made. What Calvin L doesn't like about Izumi:
This is a good solid 3.5 stars not quite a fan, but better than okay. We stopped by for some sushi one evening, and we left pretty satisfied. For starters, it is a Korean establishment, so there are a lot of korean menu items in addition to the usual Japanese fare. We ordered pretty basic items a tempura vegetable starter, a bento box, and one of their special rolls. The tempura was awesome they season their batter w... View all feedback.
After spending 15 years on the West Coast of Canada, I can confidently say that the sushi here is just as good as what I savored back there. The service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is calm and comfortable. Now that I’m a resident of Toon Town, this restaurant has become my second choice after Sushiro on Broadway. It’s a fantastic option for sushi at a reasonable price, and their Korean dishes are simply delicious. My only issue is that they don’t offer wine, Sunomono, or Gomae. Including Agadashi cheese would also be a great addition to the menu.
The service was good. I might think about coming back, but I’d like to check out other options in the city first.
I’ve been to Izumi multiple times, and their rolls are genuinely like works of art you can eat. While the food takes a bit longer to arrive at your table, the presentation is absolutely breathtaking, making it a treat for both the eyes and the taste buds. It seemed like they were a bit understaffed, which led to longer waits for our meals, but the wait was definitely worthwhile since the food was exquisitely prepared. I’ve only sampled their sushi and sashimi, so I can’t comment on the rest of the menu.
What a delightful surprise in a local shopping plaza! The miso soup was bursting with flavor, and the sushi was some of the best I've had in Saskatoon. The service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely return!
This sushi and Japanese restaurant is located in a tranquil neighborhood. The service is quick, prices are fair, and the menu offers a wide variety of options. We visited for lunch on a Saturday and all chose bento boxes, which let us pick four different items: sushi, a protein dish with sautéed vegetables, a salad, and either gyoza or a spring roll. We left feeling full and satisfied. With so many sushi places in Saskatoon, Izumi will definitely be at the top of our list from now on.
