I ordered the sweet and lobio with the waitress that they are vegan. I was offered free of charge (egg washed) brot and yogurt after the order I had to send back. they replaced it with a vegan brot. the plow seemed clean, but I found a piece (horse meat in my beans, I sent it back and they made me a fresh one that took some time and forgot to replace the rest of the food on the teller that they took away from me, which took even more time. the manager apologised me and offered me a drink and a bowl of fruit and removed most of the items from my bill, which was quite nice of them. updated by previous review on 2022-05-02
This is a great restaurant located in the Hyatt Regency. They offer a vegan version of plov (listed as vegetarian on the menu, but confirmed by several employees to be vegan) as well as herbal kebab/sashlik. Most dishes range in price from 50,000 to 70,000 som. I recommend stopping by to try their delicious vegan plov, which can be hard to find in Uzbekistan. While traveling throughout the country, you may come to realize that many places simply remove the meat from their regular plov and cook it with animal fat, making it difficult to find a true vegetarian option.
I visited this restaurant based on the many reviews praising their pilav, but I personally would only give it a 3-star rating. The ambience is nice, the staff is friendly and they speak English well. However, if you're specifically looking for great pilav, I think this might not be the best place. I didn't try any other dishes, so they might be good.
Tashkent is such a clean and cool city and the Hyatt and this restaurant are just that with an added element of luxury. The food is really nice, both the plov and the kebab.
