Most of the reviews of this restaurant all relate to previous ownerships. Since late 2018 the ownership changed and the current owner and chef is one of the best in Valle d'Aosta. The food is creative and excellent with regional dishes and local ingredients and very good value. View all feedback.
What Carol S doesn't like about Le Resto:
We walked in to find a baby being changed on the first table!!! OMG should have walked out then but we had been recommended so carried on. The main courses were undercooked and cold and we ended up walking out paying only what we considered the food we did eat was worth which wasn't enough as far as they are concerned but we walked anyway. Not recommended at all. View all feedback.

After hearing good reviews about this restaurant we thought we would try this place out. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a babies bottom on top of one of the restaurant tables, with their nappy being changed. Not something you expect at such a high valued restaurant, let alone any restaurant. After waiting for the staff to get the table ready, we were handed menus and ordered drinks, which was possibly the only good thing about he meal. The menu was very basic, not much choice and very high priced. A word of warning for English eaters, ask what the food is before you order, as there is nothing stated on this menu as to what the food is. I ordered a Beef Capaccio, which at €14 was so overpriced, and when it came it was smaller than the plate itself. One thing that was not made clear was that it was raw beef, something that was not stated on the menu. The others in my party had food which was not cooked, and was raw red inside and out. Disgusted at our meal and put off eating, we argued our experiences with the waiter, who could evidently see that we were not happy but continued to not come over. We gave him what wet haughty the meal was worth, as I had hardly eaten anything and left completely unhappy. If anything, this place was the worst meal I have ever had at any restaurant. Would not recommend this place. The waiter and the manager kept requesting a ridiculous amount of money for what we had, but we left giving only what we thought it was worth. I ended up with a trip to McDonalds, yes I'm English but I can assure you food is much tastier in there and it actually filled me up.

This little restaurant is a little off the beaten track but is well worth the extra effort to visit from aosta. A very nice looking restaurant which is elegant and has a pleasant and relaxed ambience. The beef fillet was out of this world, melt in the mouth spectacular. Lovely attentive service which was child friendly. Thanks.
An old family trattoria in Sarre, just west of Aosta has been completely renovated into a very modern and slick looking restaurant in contrast to most of the restaurants in the Aosta Valley. Open only a month at time of this review we tried both lunch and dinner at different dates. A sign advertising lunch for 12 euros on the SS26 provincial road, between Aosta and Sarre, pulled us in the first time. There was a quick freebie starter, and a couple choices for primi and secondi piatti; essentially pasta and meat options. Food was tasty and filling. On our supper excursion we chose from a select menu. The tortelli stuffed with ricotta was a little thick but otherwise flavourful; the rabbit dish was a strip of meat wrapped around a pate, tasty with a white sauce; probably the most popular at the table however was the first course crespelle, an Italian version of crepes. Dinner for four, two courses each plus starters, couple bottles of wine, coffees and digestivo totalled 120 euros. Overall the food was good and the hosts, members of the original family trattoria, were attentive and happy to offer suggestions. Tastefully decorated there was a slight cafeteria echo sound to the place. Rooms and apartments to be rented later this year as well as a patio just off the ground floor restaurant. Floor to ceiling plate glass windows and sliding doors to the patio offer good views of the south side of the valley. Location isn't obvious given the building is set back from the road and up a narrow drive amongst orchards and vines. Best way to find it is to look for the Conad City grocery store on the SS26 directly opposite Le Resto.
