The batter on the fish was just the way it should be, light and crisp! And the fries were pretty good too. The dinner came with cole slaw which was fresh and just fine. The service was great as well. It was a pool league...evening and I ordered because I had a piece of my buddies fish and liked it. The two piece portion was nice and thick so I could actually taste the fish was was just fine. What User doesn't like about Piccadilly's Fish & Chips:
I had no idea what kinda place this was until I ordered and went to pick it up. The place doesn't even have a sign out front. I had the make my way through the crowd of nasty locals standing out front smoking. When I go in you can tell there are people sitting there all day drinking and moaning about there life. The waitress was freindly and waited for my order. When she brought it out, it was in a kitchen garbage ba... View all feedback.
Eat is good, but a narrow menu of basic food. it has the most economical, and above all the coldest beer in the city. they will not find the royal family inside, and the speeches are regularly salty, but the people are friendly and jovial. in the two years I probably saw a fight twice a month.
Once you pass by the friendly locals (who are all harmless, by the way), you will find a fantastic restaurant. It may be located on the outskirts of town, but the food is top-notch in the north! They offer a $5 lunch special that can't be beat and their beer prices are some of the best in Sarnia. Give this place a try!
A number of restaurants in Sarnia claim to have the best fish and chips, so we decided to put them to the test. Unfortunately, it was not the best we had tried. Two of us ordered the fish and chips, only to find out it was pollock - not what we were expecting. Another person in our group ordered the deep-fried shrimp, which was also disappointing. However, I decided to try the Texas burger and found it to be really good. The service was fast and friendly in this small, local restaurant, which had two billiard tables, multiple tables, and a long bar where many locals were gathered. The only issue arose when it came time to pay, as they only accepted cash and had a conveniently placed ATM that charged an additional fee. We will continue our search for the best fish and chips in Sarnia, as this restaurant did not meet our expectations.
The breading on the fish was perfect - light and crispy! The fries were also very tasty. The dinner included coleslaw, which was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent as well. It was a pleasant surprise and I decided to order it because I had tried a bite of my friend's fish and enjoyed it. The portion size was generous and the fish was cooked perfectly, allowing the flavor to shine through.
A number of Sarnia Restaurants claim THEY have the best Fish & Chips so we wanted to put this one to the test. Well it's NOT the best. Four of us went for lunch. Two had the fish & chips. Pollock for fish? What happened to halibut or cod or . . . . . ? The other person had deep fried shrimp (not great either) and I had their Texas Burger which was really GOOD. Service was quick and friendly as well. It's a small local, with 2 pool tables a number of tables and a long bar, occupied by a number of locals. Problem came up when it was time to pony-up. They do not take debit or charge cards, ONLY CASH. Of course they do have a 'convenient' ATM machine in place so you can get the cash needed (at an extra bank fee). We will continue our search for Sarnia's Best Fish & Chips since this is not one of them.
