As a group of 22 and no booking we found the service at this restaurant to be excellent! The food and drink orders were very prompt. We felt we really couldn’t fault the service. The food was good. Nothing to rave about but satisfying, Overall probably 3.5 star. Service very good food good View all feedback.
What Peter C doesn't like about Snack Bar Restaurant La Salamandre:
We stopped here for lunch in the middle of a busy market day in beautiful Sarlat. Shown to a table we had to wait over 20 minutes for a menu and another half hour for the order to be taken. Tables around us arrived later and were served before us.The food when it finally arrived was sparse and mediocre and we had to ask for the drinks that had been forgotten. We finally had to go and wait at the bar for the staff to... View all feedback.
They have no idea of the ingredients of a Tournedos Rossini the small amount I tried was tasteless and covered in grease, the sauce was bland and oily, pomme salardaise burnt, over greasy and inedible.
Really glad that I ate in this restaurant. We stumbled across it whilst meandering the back streets of Sarlat. The staff were very welcoming and entertained our weak French! I ate charcuterie to start followed by the duck confit which was exquisite with some delicious fried potatoes in garlic and herbs; they were buttery and delicious. Rounded off with an incredible creme brûlée and washed down with some delicious house wine. A restaurant that isn’t really off the beaten track, but fine food and service were received.
A découvrir absolument
