Some diners were disappointed with the poor quality of the food and slow service, feeling that the overall experience was substandard. However, other guests had a much more positive experience, praising the delicious food, friendly service, and excellent cocktails. While some found the menu to be somewhat bland, others appreciated the great value for a nice dinner out. The restaurant itself is described as pretty, with indoor and outdoor seating options available. Overall, the reviews suggest that while Sipan may have room for improvement in terms of consistency and service, it still has the potential to be a hidden gem in Saratoga for those looking for quality Peruvian cuisine at a reasonable price.
This is always a good spot for a relaxing meal and an adult beverage! And the food is great!!
Our first time at Sipan and we definitely enjoyed it and plan to go again in the near future.
Great, authentic Peruvian flavor and presentation. Easy to make a reservation online.
Valentine's dinner was disorganized at epic proportions. Understandably it was a busy night, but there clearly is no excuse for the service. We had an 8.30pm reservation. We reached 10 minutes early and there were 7 other couples crammed up at the entrance. They all had reservations around 8pm and weren't seated. We were asked to write our names at the front desk despite having reservations, and were seated after 9pm. We ordered ceviche since we figured it wouldn't take long to make, a Pisco sour and a picante margarita (called something else on their menu). The ceviche was good, the margarita overly spicy. For main course we ordered a steak and a seafood dish. Around 9.40pm I asked the server how long our food would take to arrive since all the tables around us had been waiting; he said maybe 10 minutes or so. At 10pm he stopped by us again and said the food would be delayed by a bit. I asked by how much longer, he said 5 or 10 minutes. I asked him to tell me 5 minutes or 10 minutes; to be precise. He said he couldn't tell. I asked him to cancel our order and give us the cheque. We received the cheque promptly, and were charged for the main course, a total of $140. I had to follow the server back into the kitchen area to ask why we were charged for the main course since we had an 8.30pm reservation, were not served until 10pm and had clearly not eaten the main course. The charge was reversed, the server very apologetic, but he didn't have a pen to sign the cheque. They scrambled for another minute to find a pen.
Food was good. The only issue was that they were understaffed on one of the most busiest day out of the year. Server Raul did an excellent job to make sure we had a good service. We had no bad experience, but just seeing how overwhelming the workers looked and seeing everyone angry because of how busy it was it brought our mood down. Overall the whole thing was ok
