Palermo Pizza Sarasota

All I can say is amazing! This was the best customer service I've ever experienced. We arrived late—just 10 minutes before closing—with the plan to grab some ice cream and head out. But after looking at the menu, we decided to order a pizza. The staff insisted we enjoy the pizza fresh out of the oven because it would taste better that way. He was absolutely right! They ended up staying open an extra 30 minutes just for us, and we were incredibly grateful for their hospitality. The food was delicious, and the restaurant was spotless. I will definitely be going back!

We were lucky to discover this fantastic restaurant! The pizza was wonderful, with an amazing crust and delicious sauce. Our waitress, Delaney, was fantastic, and Pete, the owner, was so friendly and great with our kids. We will definitely return every time we're in town. The homemade ice cream was incredible!

The pizza was outstanding, and the lemon poppy ice cream was a delightful treat! The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very relaxed!

When we arrived, the place looked closed, but the "OPEN" sign was lit. There were a few customers inside, but it seemed like the staff was a bit short-handed. The menu had a decent selection, but to our surprise, they didn’t have cauliflower crust available. Additionally, the gluten-free crust was only offered in one size—a 12-inch—which was quite expensive at $14. We ordered an extra-large meat lovers pizza and a gluten-free black olive pizza. It took a little while for our order to be processed. Before our food arrived, our server, Delaney (if that was her name), asked if we would write a review mentioning her, as she gets a $5 bonus for it. We found it odd to be asked for a review before even trying the food. She explained that the locals aren’t really aware the place is still in business, and a review might help. Keep that in mind for later. The pizzas came out fairly quickly, and they looked great—plus, they tasted good too. While it wasn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had, it was definitely decent. The gluten-free pizza was surprisingly tasty! When we finished and went to pay, our server mentioned that the restaurant would be closing down soon—like, for good. So, why request a review if you're shutting down in a few days? That didn’t really add up. In any case, I left her an extra $5 tip. If the place is still open, the pizza is good. And Delaney, if that really is your name, I hope this review helps you earn that extra $5!

This is an outstanding pizza restaurant where nearly everything is made from scratch. They have, without a doubt, the best dough, which creates a delicious pizza crust, cheesy breadsticks, and Stromboli! You really can't go wrong with any of their pizzas, but my personal favorites are the Palermo (with tomato instead of broccoli) and the Buffalo chicken! The jumbo wings, especially the mango habanero flavor, are also fantastic. To top it all off, the owner makes his own ice cream and Italian ice! He allows you to sample everything before making your choice, and each flavor is better than the last. They even have Italian ices for those 21 and older—my top recommendation is the Bahama Mama. Lastly, I must mention the excellent service! The staff is friendly and attentive!
