What Brian Smith doesn't like about El Melvin Cocina Mexicana:
Walking in, there was quite an odor that smelled of sewage. Service was quite good. As for the food. There is little to be said of it. It was obvious that some of it was old and dried out. While some of the other food was oily and overcooked. I have attempted to try this place on numerous occasions. Hoping it will improve. Unfortunately, it has not and I will not be returning. read moreEl Melvin restaurant has been receiving mixed reviews lately. While some were disappointed with the high prices, smaller portions, and lack of communication from the staff, others enjoyed the unique appetizers, delicious cocktails, and a creative menu. Guests praised the dog-friendly atmosphere and impressive dishes like the chicken open-face quesadilla and pork taco. Despite slow service and occasional quality issues, many customers found the food and atmosphere to be great, with standout items like the fish tacos, skillet queso dip, and craft cocktails. Overall, the restaurant seems to have its ups and downs, but still draws in a diverse crowd.
