We have both plain chicken and bourbon chicken on the menu. The egg roll and crab rangoon were excellent. I appreciated that the food wasn't overly sweet, unlike at some other places. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hunan Yu Chinese:
The food was decent, but they've forgotten items in our pickup orders several times, which forced us to go back. With gas prices being so high, that's quite inconvenient. I really hope they can improve because, as I mentioned, the food is good and I do plan to return. Just please make sure to get my order right next time! View all feedback.
For the price, the food was great. Are there better options out there nearby? Possibly but they will be double the cost. The fried rice was a little greasy and I'd prefer more veggies and eggs but for $10 a plate, I didn't expect to get food as good as I actually did. Will definitely be back. Vegetarian options: The tofu is alright. Could be better and I've had worst. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

In Saint Louis, Hsu's Hunan Yu is a hidden gem that provides a unique dining experience. You are welcomed by a welcoming atmosphere as soon as you enter our charming restaurant, which creates the ideal setting for an exceptional dining experience. The attentive and welcoming personnel at the restaurant quickly made me feel at home and helped me navigate their extensive menu. Genuine Chinese food is what Hsu's Hunan Yu specializes in, and each dish exhibited their commitment to using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. The items on the menu are all painstakingly created with the ideal harmony of flavors and spices, and they are all Hunan-inspired. I made the choice to taste their renowned General Tso's chicken, and I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken had a crunchy exterior. Only take out, which is a bummer their dining area is small but cozy. Hope ot opens up again! The food was really good. I played it safe on a first visit. Crab Rangoon was delicious and savory! Chicken fried rice was real fresh chicken, mostly meat very little fat. No grizzled meat! Very good! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
