If you're in the area and looking for a great fine dining experience, Manaca is the place. You have to know where you're going, it is literally down a dark dirt street/alley. You park part way and a van takes you to your destination. We have travelled extensively and this setting is up there in the top five in terms of uniqueness. Food was good and plentiful. Pricey, but on par with what you'd expect to pay in a larg... View all feedback.
What Valentin Bezerra doesn't like about Manaca Restaurante:
We went there with 10 friends, expecting the best of the best in the region. Unfortunately the disposition of the manager and the waiters was so unacceptable that we ended up leaving. Too bad! View all feedback.
Went for dinner on Friday night. We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait a little but than got a table as the restaurant wasn't booked completely. Had the carpaccio as starter and then the fish of the day as well as the stuffed pulpo. All of it was very nice and tasty, so was the wine that we ordered. Didn't like the fact that they charged us for the cover (even though some restaurants in Brazil do) and when they brought more without asking, we got charged double. In such a high-priced restaurant I expect it to either be included or to be asked by the waiters once they bring a new one. The atmosphere is nice and it's a definitely a different experience to dine in the rain forest. Try to catch a little bit of daylight when you get there as you can't see very well anymore once it gets dark.
The restaurant is like a secret garden, surrounded by plants and flowers, it's so beautiful! We had really nice and relaxing lunch there. The Caipirinha da Casa is amazing, use honey instead of sugar! ????the service is also very good! Recommend to go~~
Incredible food - incredible jungle like place - no mosquitoes (i dont know how) - and full service. In my opinion - and after eating in a lot of them - Manaca is one of the best restaurants in the whole litoral.
It was my fifth time probably there. Good quality usually. Quite overpriced. Nice place. We were in a group of 10. I called them for reservation but only possible up to 8 pm. We decided to go by 10 pm to get the second shift. Once there it was quite empty. Horrible attention. Owner was not there. I felt they were in a hurry to close and leave, so they were extreme rude. We asked them to join tables, but no possible , even when almost empty. They told us about closing by 11 pm so better to order fastWe accepted to seat in other area, but they did not accept once again to prepare the table as requested. After 3 rd time discussing we left and went to Aqua, where finally got dinner with great attention and support. My previous visits were good , probably with the owner close. As we said at home when the cat goes out, the mouse gets party. Very disappointed.
When holidaying in the area of São Sebastião this is a must go to restaurant for a more upmarket dining experience. The restaurant is set on a wooden structure deep inside a dense forest (not far from the main road) and it looks amazing. The service and food are top quality and the price of course will be steeper than most other restaurants in the area as it is on another level. Plenty of mosquitos but they do provide repellent so it's all good...
