Enjoyed an excellent sirloin lunch at Cabana do Sol. The food isn't 'fancy', just basic cooking, but very tasty. The restaurant was lively with lots of couples and family groups. The service was quick and friendly. The portions are a good size. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Cabana do Sol:
First time in this restaurant. I had shrimp stew but the portion is huge and could feed at least people. I didn’t like it. They are pricey compared to other restaurants in the area. It is a simple restaurant for the price they ask....The casquinha de caranguejo was good, but ar Barraca do Henrique , on the beach, it is half of the price. View all feedback.

The best food experience I had in my short day stay in São Luís and from what we heard, you can’t get any better. Full menu with a many options of local cuisine. We had the Carne de Sol and would order again.
We stayed one night in São Luis and rather than trying the hotel restaurant we went to Cabana do Sol. Very friendly staff (they really tried hard to manage us with our limited knowledge in Portuguese) and we had an excellent dinner with filet and...barbecue ribs. The portions are family size, we got two different orders for a party of four grown ups and this was definitely more than enough.
We ate Mariscada here. It was very big! It is enough minimum for or people. But it was very tasteful. Many seafood was included it. And I also recommend fruits juices. All “Suco” is very nice.
My wife and I hear great things about the restaurant but it was disappointing, the fish my wife ordered wasn’t grilled over hot coals as described it was sautéed in a pan and was decent and enough for for my Suckling Pig...grilled over hot coals looked like it was done but the meat was dry as a bone, the waiter came over and told us it was over cooked but when he went to tell the kitchen he came back and said the chef said I Should have asked foe the meat not to to be over cooked!
