In this small town this merceraria is a good place for an aperitif, coffee or snack the coffee is good as the honey cake. there is a good choice of weeping and other specialties of madeira. it has a rustic feeling and I liked the henriques table and chairs made of barrels. the server was more sullen though not unpolitic. when leaving I noticed that the caffe should have closed two hours earlier, maybe he was a bit grumpy! loos were clean.
