Delicious meal, large portions and fantastic service especially from the manager on service, which took over and took the water bottle from my hand to pour it yourself! Great space and ambience, in any case seemed like a place for those good, many people with celebrations or meals with friends. If you stay in the zona colonial, it is worth the over! What User doesn't like about Laurel:
Waiters attention wasn’t good, yes they’re polite and smiling but asked twice to fix a crooked table nothing, a bit of salsa for dry focaccia nothing.Food wasn’t restaurant level: we’ve got baby back ribs it came bathed in regular store bbq sauce, and a risotto felt like a normal rice.Sitting: looks like in Europe: you’re not sure if you’re sitting with your party or a neighbors table, toooo close, no breathing insid... This restaurant is the hands down what I've ever had, especially when it's my first time. Service and food is amazing! Always do my business to come here any chance I have
The flat meat is good! Fully recommended with a Presidente beer. They really serve cold as it should be.
Set in the capital city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Laurel is considered one of the high-end restaurants for fine dining. The exterior facade is modern with a spacious open concept dining area cultivating an interior rustic feel. Laurel is considered to be an above average dining experience compared to the world fine dining in United States. I dont suspect it would be on the Michelin Guide radar per se however among the locals, Laurel came highly recommended as one of the best restaurants to visit. Our meal began with a fresh beef carpaccio fused with olive oil and deep fried shrimp tempura. All ingredients were fresh and savory without any complaints. Our main included a filet mignon steak with mashed potato cooked topped with an in-house sauce which was very good. Our second main was a buttery penne pasta with shrimp garnished with tomato and greens. We concluded our meal with an in-house churros dessert with rich creamy chocolate on the side for dipping. Concluding with a honey-infused cappuccino to wash it everyone down. Overall the experience was very pleasant. The food was great! If anyone is seeking a fancy dining experience Laurel is highly recommended! Ten Tier Diamond Award
Amazing experience! Penne al Gratin was outstanding. We also tried Pasta Casa Laurel and it was fresh and so tasty. We did not try anything we didn't like. Will come back for sure!
